Definition: slide transition

The change from one image in a slide show to the next. A "wipe" moves the next image onto the first either horizontally, vertically, in a circle, like a checkerboard or in some other pattern. A "fade" gradually turns the image into black or white, followed by the reverse action for the next one. A "dissolve" gradually changes one image into the next. A "peel" simulates the turning of a paper page. Transitions can be very imaginative; for example, the current image can be turned into a 3D cube and spin off screen, while the next one spins into view. See presentation graphics.
